so meimei got a thyroid test last week and the results came back with slightly elevated levels of thyroid stimulating hormone which is an indication of hypothyroidism. symptoms include decreased growth rate, weight gain, constipation, lethargy, decreased muscle tone and dry skin.
thyroid issues are common with children with Down Syndrome.
so we are adding endocrinologist to our list of pediatric specialists...
geneticist
cardiologist
ENT-ist

cause for celebration
Meimei can now roll from back to belly. can't leave her alone on the bed or couch anymore. i put foam mats down so she can roll wherever she wants to.
it's amazing the progress she's made just within the past month. she's moving so much more, grabbing her toes, rotating, reaching for toys, doing swimming position on her belly. we're still working on the sitting, we'll get there soon... she's been working hard building her muscle strength.
hooray for PT!
